Amy Poehler was born in Newton Massachusetts, on the 16th of September 1971. She was raised by middle class parents who motivated her education as her father was a school teacher while her mother a school nun. She went to Boston College and pursued a course in media and communications. At Boston College, Poehler took up a keen interest in improv comedy and was part of a group called “My Mother’s Fleabag.
