In just one month, November 7, 8, and 9, the Hi-Desert community will assemble for the 7th annual Yucca Valley Film Festival, a gathering that has become a cultural highlight for the Town and the Morongo Basin. The event showcases local artists and attracts numerous out-of-town directors and producers who all gather in Yucca Valley for a weekend of movie celebration.
RED CARPET EXPERIENCE
New this year: the festival will unveil a brand-new, 20-foot-long red carpet backdrop featuring our natural desert landscapes. “We’ve had our iconic white step-and-repeat since 2018, and there are thousands of pictures across social media showing our red carpet experience,” explains Festival Director Matt Beurois. “But trends evolve, especially in the events world. Festivalgoers are looking for unique experiences, and our desert landscape is what sets us apart from big-city festivals.”
The Red Carpet experience is open to everyone and free every night from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., with a professional photographer on site to capture your moment.

MOVIE PREMIERES & EXCLUSIVES
This year’s opening night will include the festival premiere of Will and Silence, a documentary by Robbi Robb dedicated to the late Bobby Furst, capturing Furst’s final metal sculpture creation.
The program will also feature Milk Baby, the latest movie directed by Kristen Gerweck Diaz, previously qualified for the 2019 Academy Awards. And once again, kids will enjoy an exclusive festival screening of an episode of The Smurfs.
A TRUE COMMUNITY EXPERIENCE
Community spirit has defined the festival from the very beginning. Since year one, the Town of Yucca Valley has made the event free for all. No box-office, but be aware that all screenings start and end on time.
The festival is built by and for the local region, featuring movies and documentaries from filmmakers not only in Yucca Valley but also from 29 Palms, Pioneertown, Morongo Valley, and across San Bernardino County.
Throughout the weekend, attendees will connect not only with films from around the world but also with the directors and actors behind them, with opportunities for autographs and selfies.
The Yucca Valley Film Festival definitely is the only festival in the Hi-Desert that brings that kind of rizz—the swagger, energy, and fun, paired with the allure of a high-level event. From the red carpet to the movie curation, it’s all wrapped in a welcoming community spirit, making this November weekend one not to miss.
